Teviotdale Harriers Masters were at it again on Sunday, claiming two golds at the British Masters 10km Road Championships held in Blyth writes Bruce Hughes.
Sammy Walker and Jim Pittillo both stormed to victory in their respective categories on another successful day for the clubs seasoned contingent.
The event, hosted by Blyth Running Club, had competitors race on the footpaths and cycleways of the Northumberland Town, from Blyth Quayside to Seaton Sluice before returning.
Sammy, who is currently collecting wins like Imelda Marcos collected shoes, won his M60 category by over two minutes. Finishing 20th overall, Sammy flew around in 35:18 with Doncaster Athletics, Kevin Newman (37:45) second and Jonathan Haynes running for Bishop’s Stortford (38:14) finished third.
In the M85 age group, Jim Pittillo, the oldest runner competing on the day, earned his win by finishing the 10km course in 1:04:54.
