This race is normally held in May in the lead-up to Hawick Common Riding and was first run in 1991 with Sammy Walker winning in what is still the course record. Prizes are kindly donated by the 1514 Club. Competitors race from the entrance of the Moat Gates, on the Loan. They make their way to the Auld Man’s Seat turn right and then continue up Crumhaughhill Road to the finish at Crumhaughhill Farm.
There are four titles up for grabs:
Senior Men (16 and over)
Senior Ladies (16 and over)
Junior Boys (15 and under)
Junior Girls (15 and under)
Registration for the event is 6:15pm at the Moat Gates, on the Loan, with the race starting at 7:00pm.
