I was unaware of these weekly events until i signed up last Thursday in order to take part in the event in Strathclyde Park last Saturday. Sign up is free and you print off a barcode which is your personal entry to any of the the worldwide parkruns. They are 5k in length and take place on Saturday mornings at 9.00am (9.30am in Scotland). No raceday registration is needed hence no numbers are issued as they use individuals barcodes to track times and performances. Scottish events are held in Edinburgh, Falkirk, Glasgow,Dundee and other locations. Always something to try if no club races are on that weekend. Details are at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/
