Langheugh Race report

Saturday past saw the first race of 2014 for Teviotdale Harriers. First off were the juniors on a route of the entire park. First in for the boys was newcomer Robin Lowthian in 11.30, 2nd place Fraser Clyne 11.36 and 3rd place Corrie Patterson 11.45 – fastest actual time Fraser Clyne.

In the girls race Skye Patterson was 1st in 11.49, 2nd Poppie Gibson 12.10 and 3rd Sinead McHugh 12.12 – fastest actual time Skye Patterson. Next off were senior ladies/senior girls and boys on a route from the park, Violet Woods, Wilton Dean Village, Scawmill, Overhall Road, trim track and back through the park. Ladies winner was Sylvia Grieve in 25.35, 2nd Lindsey Knox in 26.01 and 3rd Pauline McAdam in 26.02 – fastest actual time Pam Paxton. Results for senior boys were 1st Jamie Waugh 28.35 also fastest actual time.

Senior men were last away covering a punishing cross country route of 5.6 miles following the same route to Overhall Road as the ladies before branching out into the countryside round Whitehaugh and down by Wilton Burn, Borthaugh, Raspberry Wood and back through the park. 1st home Keith Murray in 56.06, 2nd John Tullie 56.16 and 3rd Alan Inglis 56.32 – fastest actual time Craig Grieve. All times include handicaps.
