Time Trial 6 – Results
Wednesday night was the final time trial of the summer season. Numbers were slightly down on usual due to the holidays.
11 juniors took part with two recording personal best times. Carly Blaikie managed to take another 8 seconds off her best time and is now half a minute ahead of last year, well done. Jai Patterson managed to dip under the ten minute barrier for the first time recording 9 minutes 59 seconds. Since the first time trial he has reduced his best time by 31 seconds, great performance. Throughout the year all the kids have put in a fantastic effort with some excellent performances. Four young athletes had 100% attendance records and ran all six time trials, Ishbel Inglis, Jai Patterson, Carly Blaikie and Lucy Ash. In total 59 kids all ran at least 1 time trial. When you multiply the number of runners by the number of runs they completed it totals 174 runs which is 261 miles! Special mention must go to Finn Thomson who improved by 7 minutes and 10 seconds during the year and also Tiegan Singleton who improved by 6 minutes and 5 seconds.
5 adults tackled the gruelling route where runners suffer the incline from the Cauld up to the top of Sunny Hill. Hard going on a hot sunny night. No personal bests, never mind there is always next year.
Thanks to all the helpers through out the year, it couldn’t be possible without them. Volunteers are worth their weight in gold giving up their own free time to help.
