Teviotdale Harriers had five junior runners taking part in the Gala Harriers fun run on Sunday. The race was run over approximately 3000 metres and was a hotly contested event. Coming into the finishing straight Gala Harrier Jamie Logan was in the lead with our own Kyle Potts in second. Kyle was not for giving in and gave every last ounce of effort to power ahead and pip his Gala rival to take first place in a time of 9:08. Well done to Kyle a fantastic effort. Next home for Teviotdale was Jamie Waugh in 7th position in a time of 10:25. Hot on his heels were Denholm duo Skye Patterson and Connie Lothian finishing in 16th and 17th position respectively. There times were 12:02 and 12:04. Skye received third prize in the girl’s race. Emma Grieve was next over the line in 20th position in a time of 12:45.
Next off were the adults in far from ideal conditions with a strong wind to contend with. First home for the Harriers was Alan Inglis in 17th position in a time of 39:47. Close on his heels was Michael Yule in 22nd position in a time of 41:44. Next to cross the line for the club was Supervet Alan Samuel in 37th position in a time of 47:20. Sylvia Grieve was 57th in a time of 56:38.
