Borders XC – Final round Floors Castle

Report from Keith Murray:

Bit different from the usual Norham race but Les managed to make up for the lack of mud by tricking it up with the jumps and plenty of twists and turns. Calum declared the juniors course as “solid” which I think means he enjoyed it. The seniors course maybe had a few extra turns than intended with a few folk going astray or maybe they went the right way, it only came in at 3.5 miles so suspect there was a bit missing somewhere. The jumps certainly added to the experience especially for Bill who misjudged one and landed painfully astride it. Think he would declare it was solid!

Report and photos from Alan Clyne (email:  aclyne@onetel.com if you’d like a copy):

With conditions good to firm, the boys covered the tough 1.5 mile, undulating course with horse jumps, and finished in the following positions relevant to their class, Jason McIntosh 2nd, Fraser Clyne 5th, and Callum Murray 21st.

The men’s course was just over 4 miles long in the fields in front of Floors Castle and with spectacular views of the River Tweed, (it also included some of the horse jumps).

The men finished in the following positions relevant to their class, Darrell Hastie 4th, Keith Murray 6th, Derek Scott 14th, Bill Knox 14th.
