Inter District XC – Holyrood Park

The Teviotdale  Harriers trio of Fraser Clyne, Eilidh Jaffray and Iona Jamieson represented the club with sweat, guts and pride at the Inter District Cross Country Championships at Holyrood Park, Edinburgh.

The annual event forms part of a fantastic days racing which concludes with the Great Cross Country Races as teams from Great Britain, Europe and the USA go head to head.

Fraser, Eilidh and Iona were all recently selected to represent the East of Scotland and raced against rivals from the North and West.

Iona Jamieson competed in the Under 13 girls race and performed fantastically to finish an impressive 14th overall in a time of 12:36.

Eilidh Jaffray was on the start line in the Inter District U17 4km race, with runners competing in the Great Cross Country Race for GB, Europe and the USA starting at the same time.

Eilidh also ran superbly and finished 16th in the Inter District race and 34th overall, amongst the international competitors in a time of 17:05.

Fraser, just like Eilidh, competed against the international competitors over a 6km course and also gave a great account of himself.

Fraser finished 22nd in the Inter District race in a time of 23:11 and 40th overall.

The club could not be prouder to see runners making the step up to the next level and justify selection with tenacious performances, well done the ‘Teviotdale Trio.’
