Teviotdale Harriers were well represented at Sundays Jedburgh Running Festival, both competing and organising.

Anna Galbraith emerged victorious in the women’s 10k race, Lisa Welsh competed in her first race for the club and Bruce Hughes smashed his PB in the half-marathon.

On a glorious late October day that was ideal for distance running, hundreds of competitors lined up under the towering figure of Jedburgh Abbey to await the simultaneous start of the 10k and half-marathon races.

Winner of the women’s 10k, Anna Galbraith.

The well organised, well marshalled, well sign-posted course, with a plentiful supply of feed stations was an out and back route. After heading through the town it made its way along the A698, with the 328 runners doing the 10k turning just after Mounthooly and the 346 runners in the half-marathon heading along to Eckford before looping around and heading back.

When the 10k race returned back to the town, Anna secured victory by over a minute, stopping the clock at 37:16 and finishing third overall. Michelle Short (43:54) finished 5th female with Lauren Corbett (47:17) 12th and Lisa Welsh (54:33) 52nd in the category which included 184 female runners.
