East District Cross Country Relays
Sunday 13th October 2013, Deans, Livingston
Livingston was the destination for the beginning of the cross country season and the first event on the calendar the cross country relays. Teviotdale had runners in all categories on this bright but blustery afternoon. A kite being flown on the sidelines gave the competitors a glimpse of the weather to greet them on the course.
First off were the u13/u15/17 junior females over a 2,500m distance. Running the u13 leg were Carly Blaikie in 12.05 and Connie Lothian in 12.11, u15 leg Emma Grieve in 12.23 and u17 leg Ishbel Inglis in 11.11. In the same category and distance for the boys Fraser Clyne ran the u13 leg in 9.52, Jamie Waugh the u15 leg in 11.37 and Harry Marshall u17 leg in 9.50.
For the senior ladies race there was only one runner. Donna Inglis completed her course of 4,000m in 20.12.
Finally the senior men also over a 4,000m course. 1st leg runners Craig Grieve 15.13 and Alister Biggar 16.53, 2nd leg Alan Inglis 15.32 and Alan Coltman 18.54, 3rd leg Kyle Potts 16.31 and 4th leg Derek Scott 15.20.
Next outing 1st East District League Race in Stirling on Saturday.
Taking advantage of the breeze was the new Teviotdale banner – pictured above – kindly donated to the club by David Waugh, (father of Jamie Waugh junior member) and Ian McKean of Waugh and McKean, Builders, Hawick. Sincere thanks to them from all members of the club.
