Time Trial 6 – Wednesday 14 June 2017

Well done to all the runners that took part in the final time trial.

We had a great turnout of juniors with 47 young athletes taking part. Special mention must go to Robert Wood, Maisie Ballantyne, Andrew Drummond, Logan Kendall, Zac Marsh and Alfie Walker who completed all six time trials, great effort. Hopefully by next year the café will finally be complete and we’ll get back to the original time trial route.

Four senior runners took part and Chris Watson recorded a new personal best, well done. Alan Coltman (Club President and semi centenarian) was the only adult to complete all six, great example.

A huge thanks goes out to all time keepers, name recorders, marshals etc. the time trials couldn’t take place without you.

Time Trial 6 – Wednesday 29 June 2016

In the final time trial of the season we had athletes ranging in age from 7 to 70 plus!  Juniors were first off and we were presented with a headache, the contractor building the new cafe/bridge had closed off some of the paths in the park. This meant we re-routed the junior time trial and headed over Langlands Bridge and down the other side of the Teviot making the route about 50 metres longer. Despite the route being longer 3 young athletes managed to run quicker than their personal best times – Sophie Allott, Abbie McCaughey and Hope Stewart, great result. However, as it is a different route I’m not making any adjustments to personal best times. We’ll need to have a think about the fun run route and the Christie Cup as they may both be impacted by the cafe/bridge works. Fastest boy on the night was Connon Harper and fastest girl was Iona Jamieson.

Next off were the seniors and 10 runners were taking part. 4 recorded personal best times – Ryan Stewart, Kirsty Hughes, Paul Lockie and Lauran Corbett. Fastest man was Alan Inglis and fastest lady was Lauren Corbett.

The summer time trial series has had it’s most successful year ever. 76 different juniors took part over the 6 time trials amassing a total of 260 runs. Our largest single turnout had 61 juniors taking part. We had numerous personal best times with fantastic individual performances and amazing levels of effort put in by all. We saw the boy’s course record being beaten on a few occasions and the title being held by Jamie Waugh and then Fraser Clyne. 5 juniors completed all 6 time trials – Carly Blaikie, Robert Wood, Blair Grant, Mackenzie Grant and Montana Beattie, well done. 20 different seniors took part amassing a total of 73 runs and the largest single turnout was 16 runners. 4 seniors completed all 6 time trials – Alan Inglis, Alan Coltman, Paul Lockie and Kirsty Hughes, well done. An enormous thank you to everybody who officiated in whatever shape or form it wouldn’t be possible without you.
