Scottish Athletics Road Relay Championships

On Sunday 29th March the Scottish Athletics Road Relay Championship were held at Almondvale, Livingston. The popular event is for both men and women with the men doing 6 alternate laps, 3 short (3.1miles) and 3 long (5.8miles) and the women doing 4 alternate laps, 2 short and 2 long both starting with the short lap. Teviotdale had a full mens team competing for the 1st time since 2003 and finished a creditable 33rd in 2:45:35. The race was won for the 1st time by Kilbarchan AAC. Individual times were 1st leg Kyle Potts (44th) 19:33, 2nd leg Rory Anderson (28th) 33:25, 3rd leg Ged Smith (40th) 21:26, 4th leg Stewart Fraser (34th) 35:01, 5th leg Alex Corbett (35th) 21:12, 6th leg Bruce Hughes (33rd) 34:58. It was a tremendous effort by all the lads and great to once again see the Teviotdale colours competing in the national relay championships. A huge thank you to Anne, Lauren, Kirsty and the kids for their noisy support and photos.
